Are you a good hypnosis subject?

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and a very natural state of mind – you are not asleep during hypnosis nor are you unconscious.  In this state the body and mind relax while the subconscious mind remains awake and able to access all memories; past, present and future.  The future can be accessed, if the subject can stay natural about what is given, because in hypnosis, we are outside of linear time.  We are multi-dimensional beings and can access others dimensions/aspects of our selves for information.

Are you a good hypnosis subject?  Here is a list for self-assessment.  If you have any questions about any of these, please call or e-mail.

–       Do you consider yourself “very mental” in that you have to analyze everything or be in control a lot?  I can give a tip for this, but if it is a strong pattern, you still may not be able to let go enough to see something unfamiliar.

–       Highly analytical people may not be good subjects: scientists, engineers, lawyers, etc.

–       Are you able to relax and let go of tension and stress? I will give lots of instructions to do so but this is a key to a good session.

–       Able to just be curious and have fun!

–       Do you have a good imagination, like when you were a kid and just had fun.

–       Can you follow guided meditations?

–       Do you recall your dreams?

–       Able to let go of a fear about seeing something unpleasant about yourself – tend to be hard on themselves and judge themselves.  Knowing the truth of who we are without judgment is a key to life. We are humans and we learn by mistakes. The key is don’t keep making the same mistake over and over. (It took a lot of years for me to really get this.)

Stage Hypnosis:  Many ask about this thinking a hypnotist can make you do something you do not want to do. If you have ever seen a stage hypnotist, you will notice that they carefully choose the subjects as they look for personalities who are extroverts and many are after a few drinks. However, there still is no control by the hypnotist, the subject’s ethical and moral codes can not be violated by suggestions alone.

A person cannot be made to do anything against their will.  In order for hypnosis to work, the subject must be completely cooperative.  A hypnotist cannot make you do anything that is embarrassing, shocking or irreversible.  You cannot be “made” to violate your own values.  Those who have experienced challenges while in the hypnosis trance state have given permission on some level.
